Site Description: Danwei.TV is a branch of the highly successful Danwei.org, which produces China-focused content, including English-translations of articles from the Chinese Web, as well as original articles, videos and podcasts.
Project Profile: For Danwei.TV the outline was simple – create a platform by which it was simple for video producers and publishers to submit their content while also maintaining an easy-to-follow and feature-rich front-end for visitors. For the project we implemented a suped up, fully custom WordPress theme that seamlessly integrates a number of built-in WP features with addons and custom PHP work. Though the site is powered by WordPress, it features a rather unique layout that is much more video-centric than your typical text and picture blog. Additionally, the custom front page offers a much more news-style setup than the common blog’s reverse chronological post listing.
